Harvesting Coconuts

With living in the middle of no where, with not much normal entertainment like shopping malls, concerts, festivals and so on, one does come up with all kinds of weird things to try out....

So walking out of my front door the one morning, gazing at the weather for the day, I noticed my coconut tree were finally full of ready coconuts.

Ping went the light bulb and the main aim for the day was how to get to the coconuts.

After a lot of materials were gathered, a wire folded in a loop, a plastic roap, a big rock to tie on to the end, a broom stick and a sharp knife! The battles began.

Serious battles as it took us about two hours and much laughter, neer death experiences when  the rock came back down, to get but one coconut down.

Who knew those trees were going to put up such a fight, they hold onto their coconuts for dear life.

Well after much effort and lots of sweat, I think we have perfected the art of coconut harvesting, they now come down in bunches of two or three, every five minutes...
