Lake Piti on the Quads

Happy Birthday Dru!

What would a birthday be for a boy without his boys toys so off we went to Malongane to buy two quad bikes, yes you heard right not rent them for the day, nope bought them. So now we are creating havoc around Mozambique on the latest additions to our little bush/beach lifestyle.

The whole of Mamoli and Zitundo better go and buy earplugs, here we come.

Our first adventure on the quads to Lake Piti. A perfect day and a perfect sparkling wine picnic.

Absolutely mind boggling. These are the little boats custom built by the local fishermen fishing in Lake Piti. Yes look carefully they use old roofing sheets to construct their boats. Now this might look like fun and you could say it would be a bit of a laugh when you start sinking in the middle of the lake, because how could a boat built out of corrugated iron sheeting possibly be water proof and able to float?

Well in this lake you might want to think twice about how funny this would be seeing as it contains crocodiles and hippo's.

You can't say determination cannot overcome anything. The fishermen here seem quite happy with the state of affairs and when one boat starts giving them problem, they simply ark it on the shore. Go find some roof sheets and build a new one :)

Dru relaxing in the shade. Better run fast, he's got he champers!
