Portobello road was most notedly made famous by the movie Nottinghill staring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, however long before the movie it has been famous for being the road with the worlds largest antiques market with over 1000 dealers selling every kind of antique and collectable.
Even though the antiques is the main attraction of the market, over the years it has expanded into several markets entwined into one. This includes a fresh fruit and veggie market down Talbot road, New goods which is down Talbot - Westway, The fashion market which is in downtown westway area and second hand goods which is in Goldbourne road.
Dru and I bought some handmade marsmallows which were absolutely to die for yummy!!!
This market will definitely be on my "to do every weekend" list if we ever live or holiday for a prolonged period in London. Even if it is just to go and buy the weekly fresh fruit and veggies. I have seen the biggest strawberries I have ever seen in my life, right here in this market.
The actual blue door featuring in the movie Nottinghill doesn't actually exist, but this was a good substitute:)
