St. Ives is a seaside town, civil parish and port in Cornwall and lies North of Penzance, Lizard Point and Lands end. We meandered along this coastline on our way towards the city of Bath.
As we drove along the coast you feel like you are deep in the countryside, yet it borders lovely beaches and coves made to look all the more dramatic by the sheer cliff drops and rock formations.
As the afternoon started to set in we found ourselves surrounded by thick mist and ever more winding roads, getting smaller and smaller. It was a bit nerve wrecking thinking how close we are to the cliffs and not being able to see too far so we decided to stop in St. Ives for the night and take on the road again the following morning.
Alas not so easy as we could not find one bed & breakfast, backpacker, hotel etc. in St. Ives with a vacant room, so on the road we got again back into the mist and headed towards St. Agnes where we finally found a wonderfully quint little guesthouse in the middle of nowhere with a room open.
Thank goodness for small miracles, we had a great nights rest and could take on the road again bright and early the following day.
